Nestled in the Pasadena foothills, this free-form natural pool was restored to fulfill the client’s wish to repair their 30-year-old leaky pool and rebuild the non-functioning spa. The outdated cement boulders were replaced with natural stone and carefully selected boulders, creating an authentic mountain lake retreat. Surrounding concrete and stone walkways lead to a lighted gazebo, blending seamlessly with the Ranch-style home.
The redesigned pool mimics a natural water stream with three stone streams flowing gently through the landscape. Hidden rock waterfalls on either side of the spa create a wet/dry diving platform, while a large central boulder was transformed into a jump or sunbathing rock, adding fun and functionality.
A state-of-the-art ozone system delivers drinking-quality water, while automated water balance software ensures crystal-clear conditions that reflect the beauty of a natural creek.
Over 150 low-voltage, color-changing lights throughout the landscape and 11 pool lights transform the yard into a glowing paradise after sunset. The handmade artisan glass tile in silver and goldfish shades reflects sunlight, adding a luxurious shimmer. A spa-side gazebo offers a serene space to enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing water and observe visiting peacocks and squirrels.
This renovation beautifully restored the property’s natural charm while incorporating modern features and automation, creating a tranquil retreat where the family can relax and enjoy nature.
